When was the first time you can remember being in a photo booth?

My first time in a photo booth was my own booth once it was built.  The first time I'd been in anyone else's booth was 6 years later at Booth Con 2017

How long have your been a "photo boother" and what made you decide to become one?" 

Back in 2011 I'd never heard of a photo booth as anything more than for passport photos at the shopping centres. As a budding wedding photographer, a client asked if I could do a photo booth at her wedding.  I said "sure, what's that?' I had the opportunity to create a fun and exciting business that has captivated me since. 

What are some of the challenges of running a photo booth hire business?

It's more technical that you might imagine, sure there are good programs out there that make our jobs easier, but getting all the hardware to 'talk' to each other and be confident in the equipment and the back up equipment is an ongoing job. Still all of the challenges pale in comparison to the joy and satisfaction I get from running the booths, whether its at a prestigious event with the local mayor or an intimate wedding with the bride and grooms family.    

If you weren't a photo booth operator what would you be doing?

Building for the photobooth industry.  I have big plans, some practical, some wildly over the top and completely absurd, but would be a blast if they weren't so unfeasible. There are other ways to use a photo booth that hopefully in the next few years I plan to develop.  Being able to build our own products is critical in that development.

What's the funniest thing you have ever seen happen in a photo booth?

Oh my goodness what a question! Well after hundreds of events there are so many fun times.  So many giggling women and excited men.  But the ones that truly stand out for me are wonderful photos from the older generation.  Grandparents at weddings that display such love and affection after decades of being married, its endearing, inspiring and wonderful to be a part of.

Who in your opinion has the most fun in a photo booth kids or adults, boys or girls, men or women?  

Everyone? The young & the old, people who don't or can't dance, the wall flowers bloom and the party animals flit in and out.  It keeps kids entertained and the men from the bar. Hire a photo booth now! Ideally us :) but make sure you have one at your next event.
